Without knowing anything about her, upon seeing the stare of Rose Namajunas in the UFC octagon I declared she was going to win her fight. I was informed that her opponent at the time was the undefeated champ, one of the best ever, and heavily favoured… but the “reptilian” death-stare was too convincing to me, and her opponent seemed a bit too cocky. Before the first round was over, Rose won by knockout. I was even more impressed by her attitude after the fight, she seemed quite humble and wanted to spread a message of respect for competition, not mere trash-talking. As a brand new fan, I figured “I’m going to draw that awesome little thug” (her nickname is “Thug Rose”, apparently based on her rough early years). I wanted to give her reptile eyes to match the reptilian stare, but ultimately went with cat eyes as it was simpler and looked a little better.
